Statkraft

Ahead of Almedals Week 2026, Statkraft wanted to create a strong and relevant forum for discussions on the energy policy of the future. The goal was to combine a topical seminar with a networking reception afterward, while also creating favorable conditions for meetings with decision-makers, industry representatives, and other key players in the fields of energy, industry, and social development.

The choice fell on Hansaplatsen, just a stone’s throw from the Almedalen stage and with a direct view of Donnersgatan. Statkraft had already had positive experiences with the venue and its collaboration with Hansa Event in Almedalen, and wanted to build on that.

The venue provided Statkraft with access to seminar tents, lounge and networking areas, technical equipment, furnishings, and project management in one of Almedalsveckan’s most central locations.

What We Did

Hansa Event was responsible for all practical aspects of Statkraft’s presence at Hansaplatsen—from the venue and project management to technology, furnishings, and the facilities for mingling and networking. The seminar area was set up to accommodate up to 80 seated guests and was complemented by a mingling area of approximately 100 square meters, complete with sound equipment, microphones, screens, and on-site technicians.

The seminar was titled “What Do the Political Leaders of the Future Want in Terms of Energy Policy?” and brought together representatives from all political youth organizations for discussions on topics including competitiveness, climate goals, and security. Jakob Norström, CEO of Statkraft Sweden, participated, and Niclas Sigholm moderated the discussion. The program also included perspectives from the business community, with representatives from SSAB and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, among others.

After the seminar, the discussions continued during a larger networking event where Statkraft had the opportunity to meet participants from a wide range of organizations in the energy sector, industry, politics, government agencies, and the business community. The guest list included just over 280 registered participants, which demonstrates a very strong interest in both the topic and the venue.

The Outcome

The result was a well-attended and informative afternoon during which Statkraft was able to combine advocacy, industry dialogue, and relationship-building all in one setting.

The central location at Hansaplatsen ensured high visibility during Almedals Week, while the combination of seminars, a lounge, and networking events provided opportunities for both public discussion and more personal meetings afterward.

For Hansa Event, the assignment served as a clear example of how a well-designed venue, relevant content, and seamless execution can help an organization establish a strong and credible position amid the intense schedule of Almedalen Week.

“A successful event in Almedalen requires a great deal of hard work, but in our collaboration with Hansa Event, the journey to our goal has been both efficient and enjoyable. You are professionals and, at the same time, well-established in Visby, with a strong focus on us as clients and our visitors, even when things get most hectic.”
