Magic in the Visby Night
Upon disembarking the ferry, the group was greeted by buses that transported them just outside the city walls. They were dropped off in the darkness of the night, where a monk holding a fire torch awaited them. He guided them up to a cliff overlooking Visby Cathedral. Under the moonlight, with panoramic views of the entire inner city, they were served a glass of sparkling wine and a warming soup. The journey then continued down to Visby Cathedral, which had been opened exclusively for them. Inside the church, illuminated solely by candlelight, a private mini-concert awaited them. Afterwards, they strolled at a relaxed pace through the cobblestone alleys to Clarion Hotel Wisby for check-in and a well-deserved rest.
Conference and World Heritage
The next morning began a little later than usual. The conference took place in the hotel's Mirror Hall, and after the afternoon coffee break, we led them into Visby's alleys for our activity Secrets of the World Heritage – a team challenge where the city itself becomes the game board. Participants sought answers throughout the city, completed tasks at ruins and medieval buildings, and competed against each other at various staffed stations.
An Evening in St Nicolai
As darkness descended once more, the group was invited to an unforgettable evening at the St Nicolai church ruin. A three-course dinner was served beneath the ancient arches. The unique lighting, the vast space, and the palpable sense of history created an atmosphere that is hard to describe – but impossible to forget. The evening concluded with a spectacular fire show, which then transitioned into a lively party in a medieval cellar.
Experience Gotland
On the final day, we ventured beyond the city walls, taking them into the Gotland countryside for our So much Gotland experience.
They experienced:
Gotland's unique nature
A visit to a brewmaster to learn about Gotlandic ale
Traditional Gutnish games
A bike ride down to the sea
A coffee break at the rauk field in Folhammar
As the day drew to a close, we drove them directly to the ferry, which departed at 5:00 PM.
The Outcome
Despite their late arrival and limited time, we successfully created a program that allowed them to:
✔ Experience both Visby and the countryside
✔ Have dedicated time for conferencing and focus
✔ Share unique experiences together
✔ Truly feel Gotland
And the nighttime tour?
It didn't drain energy. It provided energy.
After the ruin dinner, we heard:
“I have dined at many of the world's finest restaurants, but this was the best I have ever experienced.”
This is precisely what we aim to create.
Not just events.
But lasting experiences.
