For Gotland as a destination

Gotland Day in Kungsträdgården

Gotland Day in Kungsträdgården will take a break in 2026. We are recharging to create something even better for the next time we meet.

Since 2022, Hansa Event has organized Gotland Day in Kungsträdgården. Gotland Day is an open fair and meeting place in Kungsträdgården, where Gotlandic companies in the tourism and business sectors, along with Region Gotland and Destination Gotland, meet visitors curious about what Gotland has to offer.

The aim is to strengthen Gotland as a destination – not just as a place to visit, but also as a place to live, work, and grow. Right in the heart of Stockholm, Gotland is showcased through its people, flavors, stories, and encounters.

The purpose of Gotland Day

The purpose of Gotland Day is to build relationships and spark curiosity about Gotland. Instead of traditional marketing, we want people to experience Gotland in a personal way – by talking to those who live and work on the island, tasting local products, and getting a feel for the life, opportunities, and community there. The day aims to foster pride among Gotlandic stakeholders, strengthen collaboration, and inspire new audiences to discover Gotland, both as a destination and as a place to live.

What We Did

Hansa Event was responsible for the entire event, creating a vibrant, open, and welcoming experience where Kungsträdgården was transformed into a Gotlandic meeting place. Through carefully coordinated production, hosting, and logistics, Gotlandic companies and organizations were given the opportunity to connect with visitors personally. Family activities, food, culture, live music, and conversations with Gotlandic businesses were given as much prominence as informational displays, with a focus on presence, encounters, and genuine dialogue.

The Outcome

Over four years, Gotland Day has grown into a popular and recurring event that attracts thousands of visitors annually. It has enhanced Gotland's visibility, fostered pride and collaboration among Gotlandic stakeholders, and contributed to increased curiosity, desire to travel, and interest in Gotland as both a place to visit and to live. Above all, Gotland Day has demonstrated how personal encounters, experiences, and presence build stronger relationships than traditional communication – and how clear hospitality can bring a destination to life, even far from the island.
